PHOTORAMA 2013 at Gallery TPW - Nov. 29

“Turquoise Collection” is meant to fill the space on a wall, in the place of physical objects on a shelf. The color Turquoise is not often used in North American architecture and design and has become extremely symbolic for me; Blue - which makes up sky and water - conveys a sense of the infinite, evoking the notion of absence and solitude as possibility. These material (and personal) items can now come inside of your homes and lives and create that same presence. The objects have no outside connection to each other, yet when placed together, create a blanket of shades within the same palette, almost like a watercolor painting. With a slight change in configuration, the meaning of the piece can change entirely, leaving the viewer helpless in being able to adjust the pre-decided composition.
